THURSDAY EVENT
Dappersveld winery/ Decort distillery-Geuze/ T'Krekelhof
A Journey Through the Flavors of Pajottenland with wine-beer-spirits experiences
Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Pajottenland, southwest of Brussels, Wijndomein Dappersveld-Woestijn stands as a true testament to passion and craftsmanship. This remarkable vineyard traces its roots back to 2013 when Eric Geyssens and his wife, Linda, planted their first vines, giving rise to Wijndomein Dappersveld.
In 2016, the Dehandschutter family embarked on their own winemaking venture. Sharing a common vision and dedication to excellence, both families chose to unite their efforts, leading to the creation of Wijndomein Dappersveld-Woestijn.
During our visit, we will have the privilege of tasting an exquisite selection of 4 of their wines while enjoying a guided tour of the vineyard. Our journey continues with a visit to Decort Distillery, where we will witness the art of special beer Geuze and spirits production. Housed in a former fruit farm, Decort Distillery embraces the origins of distillation, using only homegrown raw ingredients—including apples, maize, potatoes, wheat, and barley—to craft their exceptional products. Naturally, we will have the opportunity to sample their finest creations. We will be able to taste Geuze beer and 4 destillates
At midday, we will gather for a delightful lunch at Krekelhof, offering a moment to relax and savor the experience.
Our gathering begins at 9:00 AM, with buses departing promptly at 9:30 AM. A light lunch will be provided, and we will return in the early afternoon, leaving ample time to unwind, explore, or simply enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. A dedicated member of the organizing team will be available to assist throughout the experience.

Château du Mylord

BETWEEN PRESTIGE & TRADITIONS
Frederic Gubbins of Kilfrussch, born in Clifton (England) in 1817, son of General Gubbins was assigned to India in 1836 where he assumed the functions of Sub-prefect, Prefect and finally Governor of five states of East India.
During an extended leave from his obligations in India, his ship docked briefly in Antwerp, giving him the opportunity to meet Dame Bellonie Créteur, originally from Ellezelles.
They married in 1849 and moved to Benares.
But the Indian climate did not suit the beautiful Bellonia. They then decided to return to Europe and settle in Ellezelles where Mr Gubbins bought a large house which he transformed into this current building.
Known in Ellezelles since 1862, we owe him the Stations of the Cross which still adorn the walls of the Saint-Pierre aux Liens church in Ellezelles. In this town and the surrounding area, Mr Gubbins is known and always referred to as "Mylord". His home is characterized by its period style, its tower, its white walls, its Norman castle appearance and its superb garden. Testimony to the architecture of the last century corrected by the original spirit of an English general.
Le Mylord invites you to discover a refined and creative cuisine, highlighting local products. Our chef creates exquisite dishes, mixing tradition and modernity for an unforgettable taste experience.
This magnificent 19th century building nestled in the heart of the Collines Region offers its visitors a sumptuous landscape in a three-hectare wooded park. Its large terrace promises some beautiful summer evenings in the moonlight while its beautiful open fireplace guarantees a warm atmosphere around a beautiful table during the winter.
Emblematic in the Belgian gastronomic landscape, the Château du Mylord was founded and run by Jean-Baptiste Thomaes and his wife Lisbeth who after forty-two years of excellence gave way to Martin and Nuria Simonart. A new chapter is being written…
